11 Asian pianists advanced to the quarterfinal round in the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth.

 

The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition on Sunday evening named 20 pianists to advance to the contest's quarterfinal round, 11 of which are Asians.

 

The 20 quarterfinalists were selected from 30 pianists who performed last week in the preliminary round.

 

The 20 quarterfinalists will perform 45-minute recitals in the following order at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth.

 

Performances are being streamed live at cliburn.org. 

 

At the end of the Tuesday performances, 12 pianists will be picked for the semifinal round, to be held from Thursday through June 5.
