Will the third time be the charm for Korean-American city councilman hopeful Young Sung?
Young Sung, who is the president of the Korean-American Soccer Association of Dallas, is running for the Carrollton city council, again.
He previously ran twice and lost both times.
Young Sung believes he has a great chance to win this time, contingent upon the support from the Asian-American community.
Young Sung officially filed his candidacy for the Carrollton City Council Place 6 last Wednesday and held a press conference at his residency in Carrollton.
“I’ve tried twice to become a Carrollton city councilman but failed. But I have a strong belief that I have a great chance to win this time” said Young Sung, in front of a handful of reporters.
Citing the idiom ‘third time’s the charm’, Young Sung asked for support from the Asian-American community, particularly support from Korean-Americans.
“My beloved fellow Korean-Americans, I ask you for your support. I know I cannot win without it” said Young Sung.
Young Sung hired a veteran campaign manager, Alexandra Fincher, to oversee his campaign.
Young Sung will hold a fundraising event sometime in February. Details will be announced at later time.
The deadline for filing candidacy is February 17th, 2017. As of today, Young Sung is the only candidate who has filed the application, but one or more candidates are expected to file their candidacy.
Voting day of this local election is May 6th, 2017. For questions about Young Sung’s campaign, you can contact Rex Yun at 817-443-7622.
