The Crow Collection of Asian Art is changing its name to Crow Museum of Asian Art.

According to Deborah Fleck of Dallas Morning News, the Crow Collection of Asian Art is changing its name to Crow Museum of Asian Art next year.

Next year marks the 20th anniversary of Crow Collection of Asian Art and many plans are underway, according to Deborah Fleck.

Amy Lewis Hofland, executive director of the museum, gave a sneak peek of what's to come during a luncheon Wednesday. Guests included Trammell S. Crow and Lucy Crow Billingsley, whose parents,

Trammell and Margaret Crow opened the museum in 1998 to share their love of Asian art and culture with the community, according to Deborah Fleck.

Plans include building a new outdoor courtyard, an art studio and a Center for Contemplative Leadership and reinstating the museum's iconic Buddha statue.

Major renovations of the upper levels, including the Grand Gallery, will start in January.

Amy Lewis Hofland, executive director of the museum, said “2018 will be a year of courage and letting go, as the museum becomes a self-sustaining institution.”

The museum raised $1 million each of the last two years and is on track to meeting its fundraising goal for 2017. “We are in our cocoon stage but will soon be a butterfly” said Hofland.
