Korean American Professional Network (KAPN) hosted part 1 of the ‘Relationship Building’ speaker series Thursday, October 24th at Toyota Motor North American in Plano.
The panel discussion featured 3 prominent Asian American professionals from the Dallas area – Sul Lee, Charlie Lin, and Danny Kim.
Sul Lee is the principal attorney at Sul Lee Law Firm. She is an expert in building a relationship with each client, helping them not only with the details of business contracts and litigation. Over the years, her business has grown dramatically given consistently strong recommendations from satisfied clients.
Charlie Lin is a Michigan native and is currently a Manager at Toyota Financial Services, specializing in Dealer Lending Projects & Systems. Given his excellence in networking and building relationships, he also serves as the Marketplace Engagement Chair of TAASiA, Toyota's Asian American professional group.
Danny Kim has over 10 years of experience in commercial banking and insurance and is currently a Producer at SwingleCollins & Associates, the largest property and casualty only agency in Texas.
Young Oh, a KAPN board member, moderated the panel discussion. Young Oh works at Texas Instrument’s HR department. Before switching to HR, Young Oh worked at TI as an engineer.
The discussion started with the question of what ‘professional relationship’ meant for the panel. The panel took turns in explaining their own definition of professional relationships based on their unique professional experiences.
Moderator Young Oh asked the panel questions about such topics such as networking, branding, mentoring. Some questions were pre-selected but most were spontaneous.
About 40 people attended the speaker series, most of them being KAPN members.
Some of the notable figures from the Korean American community showed up as well. Consul Bumgeun Cho from the Consular Office of the Republic of Korea in Dallas, Greater Dallas Korean American Chamber of Commerce President H.K. Kim, Korean Society of Dallas President Myunghee Park were some of the non-KAPN members in attendance.
Thursday’s panel discussion was the first installment of KAPN’s ‘Relationship Building’ speaker series. KAPN will be announcing the next installment of the speaker series in the near future.
