DFW Asian American Citizens Council is hosting its 18th Annual Banquet on Saturday, September 8th at the Renaissance Dallas-Richardson Hotel.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Mark Keam, who is the state representative in the 35th district of Virginia.
Mark Keam is the first Asian-American, as well as the first Korean-American, to be elected to any state-level office in Virginia.
This isn’t the first time the Democratic Virginia state representative is visiting Dallas. Mark Keam was the keynote speaker at the 2017 Annual Award Banquet hosted by the Korean American Coalition DFW Chapter.
Mark Keam was born in Seoul, Korea, as the youngest child of a Presbyterian minister. At age four, Mark Keam and his family moved to South Vietnam where his father established a church.
In 1975, they fled from the war when Vietnam fell to communism. They then moved to Australia where his father established another church, before eventually moving to America.
For more information on Mark Keam’s bios and political views, visit his official website at markkeam.com
