A new mixed-use development on the way in Allen will be one of the largest such projects in that area of Collin County.
Allen-based JaRyCo Development is teaming up with the Johnson family to build the 135-acre urban-style project on Sam Rayburn Tollway and Alma Drive.
Called The Farm, the project will include a combination of office, retail and residential space. A hotel and public park are also planned in the development, which will stretch along the south side of Rayburn Tollway.
Allen’s city council approved plans Tuesday night for the development, which will start construction late this year.
“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with the Johnson family and transform their treasured farm into a world-class mixed-use project that will check all of the boxes for what the citizens of Allen need,” said JaRyCo CEO Bruce Heller. “The project’s phases will be determined by the market needs, but overall, with office, dining, entertainment and residences, we will be creating a master-planned, walkable community that will be a new destination for Allen and the surrounding areas.”
The property has been owned by the same family since 1964. It’s one of the last large development sites on Allen’s northern edge.
