A Tragic Loss for the Pakistani American Community of Dallas Fort Worth occurred over night.
According to media reports, Julia Zaman(46) of Frisco was killed in a tragic accident on Dallas North Tollway near the Sam Rayburn Tollway.
She is wife of Nadeem Zaman, the former president of the Pakistan Society of North Texas.
According to the Dallas Morning News and NBC5 reports, State troopers were called about 10:30 p.m. to the Dallas North Tollway near the Sam Rayburn Tollway overpass after a black Kia SUV crashed into a concrete barrier and the median on the northbound side of the tollway.
The driver of a black Land Rover SUV saw the crash and stopped on the outside shoulder. As the woman got out of the vehicle, a Chevrolet Camaro struck her. The woman, who died at the scene, was later identified as 46-year-old Julia Zaman of Frisco.
The driver of the Kia was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, and that vehicle's passenger was taken to Medical City Plano with unknown injuries.
The Camaro's driver, 48-year-old Rabyl Nathoo, was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The incident is still under investigation.
